BYSPC had a positive impact on how I see youth in my community, and how making a difference in the community by bringing people together which creates an uplifting environment. We as a team, thought collectively on how host events and make people feel heard and included.

I think BYSPC is important because it’s for the benefit of all black youth who are experiencing trauma or grief, for me before I got into BYSPC I was feeling and thinking that I was alone. but because of BYSPC I realize, that we’re never alone we always have someone there to help us and/or support each one of us in our struggles

The work that BYSPC is doing is healing the Black community and educating others. In order to stop the rise of Black youth suicide in the U.S, we must start by making it known that it is an issue. Because of BYSPC, I have been able to contribute my ideas and bring projects to life; it has shown me that making a change can start with us youth. I feel so fulfilled knowing that my efforts will make a difference in my community.

The goal of raising suicide awareness in Black youth has not been an easy path, but the most worhwhile endeavors never are. BYSPC puts a powerful spotlight on a problem too many Americans are unaware of: the cruel and fatal power of isolation. I've loved uniting and connecting with Black youth from across the state–our coalition has worked together to uplift and inspire not just Black Youth at large but each other. I deeply enjoy what I do and love having the privilege of being able to say I'm in this line of work, and the best part of someone asking me what I do for work I get to bring about just a little more awareness each time.
